Where is Little Cranberry Island ?

Islesford is located on Little Cranberry Island, off the coast of Maine. Politically, we are located in the Town of Cranberry Isles, which consists of five islands.

With a winter population of 85, there is a K-8 two-room school, a post office and a number of seasonal summer businesses. Islesford is a summer destination - during the summer the population swells to 300 with visitors and summer residents. See islesford.com the community website.

Islesford is home to the Cranberry Isles Fishermen's Coop which is the center of economic activity for about 20 lobster fishermen (and ladies).

Public ferry boats leave from Northeast Harbor all year and also from Southwest Harbor on a regular basis during the summer. If you are bringing your own boat, there is often docking space either at the Town Dock or at the Islesford Dock, or someone there will help you find a mooring.

For those people seeking a global view - we are located at the red dot:

The dock on the right is the Town Dock, the middle dock is the Fishermen's Co-op, the left dock (under the red dot) is the "Restaurant / Gallery / Pottery / Sue's Shop / Yacht Club" dock.
